-Jacob and I felt we were “deployed” since we spent just 4 days shy of four months (or a 1/3 of a year as Jason likes to point out) in the States.
-Jacob and I stayed with my parents, Bob and Ginny, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio
-We put over 9,000 miles on our rental car.
-We also made 2 trips to Tennessee, 4 trips to Dayton, and 1 trip to Maryland. Thank you to all of our gracious hosts…. Scott and Casey (and Baby Cierra) at their old house in Dayton….and Jay and Jenn in their home in Gahanna...and Tammy, Joe, JJ, and Will in Maryland.
-Jacob enjoyed his first and second trips to Lake Norris, Tennessee. He was an angel on the boat!! He hardly complained while wearing his life vest for hours a day. He loved watching his Mom and Dad slalom while he snuggled up with Scott and Casey, Grandma Becky, Grandpa Steve, Aunt Amy, and Uncle Joel. On the other trip with his Grandma Ginny and Grandpa Bob, Jacob learned to fish and got to do a bit of swimming in the lake.
-Although many of us SWORE that Jacob “must be teething” on several occasions, at this time he still has no teeth (we suspect he didn’t want Daddy to miss his first one!).
-We shopped at Target….well, let’s just say often……We also made several trips to Easton Towne Centre, The Green, and Polaris. All having stores that are not as accessable in Japan.

-Jacob gained 2 new uncles during our trip! My sister, Bridget, married Justin Moody on May 17, and Jason’s sister Amy married Rick Hay on June 29. Congrats to you all!
-Jacob was able to spend precious time with all of his living Great-Grandparents. My grandmother, Kate, spent a week in Columbus during Bridget’s wedding. Jason’s grandparents, Max and Betty, were able to see Jacob during two weekend visits before Amy’s wedding in Anderson. Jason’s other Grandmother, Lillian, lives in Anderson and loved on Jacob on all of our trips to Indiana.

-Jacob spent his first few nights away from Mom and Dad in May. Jacob had a ball with his Grandma and Grandpa Massengill while Jason and I spent time in New Orleans for a 5 day conference.
-Although many of us SWORE that Jacob “must be teething” on several occasions, at this time he still has no teeth (we suspect he didn’t want Daddy to miss his first one!).
-Jacob had his first kiss.....from a blonde beauty no less!!! Jacob had a little crush on Ashley Wiegand.
-Jacob went to his first baseball game and even got to run the bases with Grandpa Cook after the game!!
-Jacob was sedated twice; once during a CT scan and once for MRI.
-Jacob had 22 hours of PT appointments with the fabulous Michelle at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
-Jacob met 4 cats (Atticus, Mr. Tummus, Willie, and Chloe) and one dog (Georgie).
-We visited countless friends and relatives.
-I spoiled myself with the most fabulous artificial eyelashes!! I highly recommend a trip to Studio 33 in Columbus and an appointment with Adena for your very own set of ‘Xtreme Lashes’.
(Horrible pic of Jacob...but check out those lashes!!!) :)
-Jacob went swimming in his baby pool for the first times and LOVED every minute of it.
-Jacob went to his first (and very rainy) 4th of July parade with his Grandma and Grandpa Cook and Aunt Bridget.
- We web cammed with Jason almost every day we were all apart.
-Jacob wore (and still wears) a TOT collar several hours a day to help treat his torticollis.
-Jacob spent hours giggling with and being spoiled by his Aunts Bridget, Amy, and Ali, and his Uncle Joel.

-We had professional photographs taken by his Uncle Justin.

-Suz saw 4 movies in the theaters (a world record since college, I think!): Dark Knight, Hancock, Mama Mia, and Sex and the City.
-……. and read 5 books (a record since Jacob was born!)
-Jacob dramatically expanded his food repertoire: formula, tuna, salmon, tilapia, perch, wild rice, couscous, cantaloupe, watermelon, ground beef, black beans, cheese (gosh, he loves cheese….but who doesn’t?), to name a few.
-Jacob learned to clap, wave (to everyone in sight), sit up by himself, get into sitting by himself, crawl on all fours, commando crawl, cruise, pull himself up onto things(everything I might add), make countless precious facial expressions, and (our newest favorite) give hugs!
-Jacob developed a killer farmer’s tan.

That's only a fraction of the things we did and the people we saw. I wish I could post and share all the pics we have, but there is just not enough room on this blog. Sorry it took so long to get these up. Enjoy!
